The project consists of construction of a four-lane full freeway in Mendocino County to replace 8.9 miles of two-lane highway through the Russian River Canyon. The principal adverse environmental effect of this project will be its effect on the landscape. Necessary cuts and fills will unavoidably alter the land form and remove native vegetation. (Author)
