The report describes the proposal for construction of the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority which has requested federal assistance under the Airport Development Aid Program to extend existing Runway 15R-33L from 6,600 ft. to 8,500 ft. This work will provide parallel runways of the same length. There will be an increase in intermittent noise levels in the approaches to Runway 15R-33L due to a heavier concentration of jet aircraft operations on this runway; the operational capacity of the airport will be upgraded permitting future increased operations by jet aircraft; and some 'short-term' adverse environment effects that are normally associated with normal construction techniques. There were no significant adverse environmental effects associated with this project. Alternatives considered were the construction of a new runway on a different alignment and 'doing nothing.'
