Principles of display and control design for Remotely Piloted Vehicles (RPVs) were investigated. The difficulties which arise from lack of kinesthetic feedback and problems associated with communicating adequate information to the remote pilot were considered. Attention was focused on the strike mission. A series of experiments were conducted to examine the pilot/subject's ability to control the RPV in flight and perform certain targeting maneuvers under different display and control situations.
