Four problems were studied: Optimum charging and lead batteries; Influence of the gas production on the charging; Optimization of the battery for electric vehicles; The discharging capacity of the porous lead electrode. Both theoretical and experimental studies were performed in these areas in order to elucidate the suitability of lead-acid batteries for propulsion of electric vehicles. (ERA citation 14:011153)
