This thesis investigates the problems in current naval aircraft cockpits as perceived by fleet naval aviators who are students at the U. S. Naval Aviation Safety School. A critical incident questionnaire provides data that examines the deficiencies of an individual aircraft. These individual aircraft deficiencies are then categorized into twelve major deficiency categories which are common to more than one aircraft.
