The study is an evaluation of platooning characteristics as vehicles arrive at various observation points downstream from a signalized intersection. The findings provide a measure of the platoon dispersion to determine when and where provisions should be made for the interconnection of traffic signals and the justification for signals based on interruption of continuous traffic flow.
