The 2004 Transportation MAP Report (2004 Transportation Metropolitan Atlanta Performance Report) updates and expands the 2003 Transportation MAP Report, which set baselines and targets for use in tracking the overall performance of the transportation system in Metropolitan Atlanta. Measures and targets were set in four general categories - Mobility, Transit Accessibility, Air Quality, and Safety. The 2004 report reveals progress in some areas and slippage in others. Progress has been made in general in Mobility and Air Quality, and slippage has been seen in Transit Accessibility and Safety. In Safety however, significant reductions were seen in duration of incidents on highways, which is a major contributor to traffic congestion in the region.
