This study aimed to develop a design for an automobile collision avoidance radar that could operate correctly in the presence interference typical of various highway environments. Likely levels of interference, assuming most all vehicles are radar-equipped, was estimated from traffic data obtained from the Illinois Department of Transportation for a local 6 lane highway.
