The report presents the results of an investigation of the OH-58A helicopter and Allison T-63 engine vibration characteristics. The investigation was directed toward the determination of engine response using impedance/mobility methods and NAsa Structural ANalysis (NASTRAN). The results of these studies are compared with each other, with results from independent vibration tests of the airframe and engine, and with engine vibration levels measured during flight testing of the OH-58A helicopter. The objective was to determine the parameters defining the vibratory interaction and to provide a common language for engine/airframe interface analysis and for preparation of engine/airframe specifications.
