Wind tunnel tests to determine the aerodynamic characteristics of blunt bodies are described. Emphasis is placed on determining the nature of the bow shock wave formed at supersonic speeds and the properties of the rotational flow around the body. Numerical procedures for determining the pressure distributions for various aerodynamic configurations are presented. (Author)
