The international cooperation of the German aerospace industry in the field of high-technology products is reviewed. The rationale for cooperation is explained. The technology targets for production, design, development, and basic research within Europe, with a view to the realization of competitive programs, are presented. Examples of international cooperation are given in order to demonstrate that the aerospace industry is a key factor in the international cooperation between industrialized nations.
