An engineering examination is made of a subsonic analog of the F-111A to determine what savings can be made in terms of weight and cost. It is concluded that so long as both planes have the same mission, both planes will have nearly the same gross takeoff weight. Savings in cost appear to be substantial, however, and a detailed cost analysis is being prepared for sepetate distribution. (Author)
