This document describes Space Shuttle launch and recovery weather requirements and constraints, Shuttle support mission of Detachment 11, 2d Weather Squadron. It discusses the NASA-USAF Meteorological Systems Modernization Program (MSMP) and the group formed to administer it. The Group is co-charied by Directorate of Space Stationed and Advanced Projects, Technology Projects Office (PT-TPO) of Kennedy Space Center (NASA) and Detachment 11, 2d Weather Squadron (ESMC/WE) of Patrick AFB. The group's purpose is to upgrade in-place forecast technology to ensure the challenges of Shuttle weather support can be met. Keywords: Weather forecasting.
