In residential areas interviews are often used for the analysis of the lack of traffic safety. By means of these interviews the feelings and the views of the residents are measured, but research has shown that locations at which the most complaints were made were not always those where most accidents happened. If these data are to be useful for the analysis of the lack of traffic safety, then they should be translated in terms of behavior and risk. In addition the views of the road users on the traffic can be used in determining the traffic policy in a certain area.
