The transport and distribution of Alaska oil poses serious problems with respect to potential impacts upon the quality of air, water, and land, especially in the Western United States. The report is intended to acquaint administrators, scientists, and concerned citizens with the history and problems associated with assuring environmental compatibility in the disposition of Alaskan oil reserves.
