As miniature air vehicles (MAVs) proliferate in various optical surveillance mission, the ability to autonomously avoid obstacles in the flight path using aerobatic maneuvering becomes more desirable. A basic aerobatic flight maneuver from which other maneuvers can be derived is the aileron roll.
