Advances in Artificial Neural Network (ANN) technology exhibit great potential for solving such aerospace problems as optimization, control, pattern recognition, and signal processing. This project coordinates new and continuing investigations into applications of ANN technology. This year, it comprised four tasks: (1) implementing a Neural Network Simulator (NNS) to support neural network investigations; (2) solving message routing in dynamic topology networks; (3) performing vehicle-control-system fault detection and attitude estimation; and (4) applying ANN technology to estimation and identification techniques for determining spacecraft attitude.
