An automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) was installed at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Technical Center's Interim Concept Development Heliport. This was done in order to evaluate the siting, installation, and operational suitability of the AWOS at a heliport. The principal recommendations of this report have been incorporated in FAA Advisory Circular (AC) 150/5220-16, Automated Weather Observing Systems (AWOS) for Non-Federal applications. (Author)
