The WAC performs the following general functions: (1) Signal conditioning of the aircraft attitude sensor data for use by the Head-Up Display (HUD) system; (2) Air-to-air lead angle computation for the HUD air-to-air gunsight; (3) Air-to-ground weapon depression and across-wind aimpoint computation for the HUD air-to-ground Continuously Computed Impact Point (CCIP) weapon release cue; and (4) Breakway warning computation for terrain and weapon fragmentation avoidance for the HUD air-to-ground CCIP mode.
