Flying cars have nearly mythical appeal to nonpilots, a group that includes almost the whole human race. The appeal resides in the perceived utility of flying cars, vehicles that offer portal-to-portal transportation, yet break the bonds of road and traffic and travel freely through the sky at the drivers will. An obvious problem of flying cars is the complexity of the vehicle, the infrastructure, or both. Another is the difficulty of matching low power for normal driving with high power in flight.
