The highway construction project, Asahel Curtis Interchange to Snoqualmie Summit, is located in the upper reaches of the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River in King County, Washington. This project updates some five miles of existing SR 90 just west of Snoqualmie Pass to current Interstate standards. Adverse environmental impacts of the proposed project are erosion, noise, exhaust emissions, acquisition of natural habitat of wildlife, forest tree removal, home and recreational land acquisition.
