As part of the rocket sounding campaign conducted in Andenes, Norway, from September 1977 to January 1978, four identical payloads for the investigation of the magnetosphere response to magnetic substorms were developed, built, and qualified. The experiment package was designed for use in a Skylark 12 nose cone. All four units were successfully flown during substorm events. Details on the development, manufacturing, testing, and launch preparation of these payloads are given. The post flight reports filed on the performances of the experiments and the rockets are also included.
