The objectives of the project are the evaluation of different raised pavement markers (RPMs) and marker adhesives in order to find one or more systems that will provide good performance and long life. Also evaluated in the study was the placement of RPMs in shallow slots cut in the pavement with diamond blades. This did not prove to be cost effective due to the high cost of cutting the slots and the reduction in reflectance effectiveness.
