In order to investigate the possibility of using satellites in verification of military and disarmament treaties, simulations of satellite images are presented. A column of tanks on a road in a terrain model was used as an example of military activities. With the half-width of the point spread function as a measure of resolution, the spatial resolution needed for detection is 8 m.
