The Prototype Rendezvous Onboard Software (PROBS) was established on the basis of a LEO rendezvous (RVD) mission selected in order to involve the most complex automatic scenario (RVD with a Sun-pointed spacecraft, e.g., EURECA, which is only passively cooperative, i.e., does not participate in the RVD maneuver) in order to be easily adapted to any autonomous RVD mission. The software includes sensor data processing; estimation and control of chaser absolute/relative position and attitude; sequencing of modes; interfaces with equipments and platform controller; and failure detection, isolation, and recovery. The software was developed according to the ESA BSSC standard, and is coded in C-language.
