Many aircraft are currently equipped with ACMS, permanently recording a large number of flight and load parameters. In addition, small, reliable and relatively cheap special purpose recorders have become available. Thus, large scale service flight load data acquisition at relatively low cost has become feasible. This paper gives an overview of various service load measurement projects carried out by the National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) during the last twenty years, with specific attention to the general methodology applied.
