The fourth launch of an INTELSAT IV commercial communications satellite is scheduled for no earlier than 13 June 1972 at approximately 1900 hours EDT from Cape Kennedy, Florida. INTELSAT plans to position the satellite at 61.4 east longitude (Indian Ocean). The Communications Satellite Corporation (COMSAT) manages this program on behalf of the International Telecommunications Satellite Consortium (INTELSAT). NASA provides satellite launching and associated services on a reimbursable basis to COMSAT in accordance with the Communications Satellite Act of 1962. This cost is approximately $15.5 million per launch.
