The orbiting shadowing analysis computer program was developed by NASA in order to assess the shadowing effects on various power systems. The algorithms, the inputs and outputs are discussed. Examples of typical shadowing analysis, performed for the International Space Station Freedom, the International Space Station Alpha and the joint United States/International Mir Solar Dynamic Flight Experimental Project are presented.
