Tests are currently being performed in the NASA Lewis Research Center's 9- by 15-Foot Low-Speed Wind Tunnel on a Pratt & Whitney designed l ow-tip-speed fan. The test objectives are to determine the acoustic, aerodynamic, and aeromechanical performance of this low-speed, high-b ypass-ratio fan stage. Noise reductions from various combinations of engine nacelle acoustic treatments are also being obtained.
