Werner spoke to the manufacturers of the cubesats about some of the promising options of technologies that would convert sunlight to electricity that can be applied in a variety of ways to create propulsion. The hall-effect thrusters from Busek of Massachusetts, preparing to test one on a 12U cubesat called Iodine Satellite or iSat and the Halo Hall Effect Thruster developed by ExoTerra Corp. The electrospray thrusters developed to detect gravitational waves for NASA-European Space Agency and different kinds of electrospray thruster developed by Accion Systems based on technology its founders such as Natalya and Bailey.
