This specification covers a virgin, unfilled polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) in the form of extruded and sintered rods, tubes, and profiles. This revision now includes the requirement for pre-production acceptance tests.and recommends the use of AMS3678/1 for applications such as bearings, seals and backup rings that do not require radiographic or dielectric testing, therefore the options for Types 1 through 4 have been removed. The document has been re-formatted to a template.
