Modern aircraft are incorporating new color CRT technology into the cockpit. These displays have been flight certified on the bench, but little is known about their performance or an operators visual performance with them during a vibration environment equivalent to low level flight. This study found the CRT chrominance and luminance to remain constant during vibration, found specific color visual performance parameters not significantly affected by vibration, and suggest minimum symbol sizes to be used in a vibration environment.
