Recent research activity has led to a new design concept in cylindrical roller bearings, obtainable by a judicious choice of roller parameters best suited to the results of our experimental testing. Optimizing of the internal bearing geometry and race wall proportions has provided an increased load rating in an annulus smaller than the present standard boundary. This smaller boundary has allowed a multiple bore size availability in the present standard boundary, producing an extensive application coverage with a minimum number of basic bearing sizes.
