The quality of our products, and our productivity in producing them, are both very important to the profitability of the business. Very often, however, these profits are dissipated by inappropriate business strategies; and therefore our quality-improvement and productivity-improvement actions cannot be sustained. We examine here some business strategies, recorded in the PIMS data base, that are effective in making these moves profitable.
