New hydrostatic drives have found commercial acceptance on a family of vehicles where it is desirable to have complete control of ground speed, independent of engine speeds. These machines have common idealistic transmission requirements that can be met by hydrostatic drives. To meet varying cost and mounting requirements, specific uncompromised designs of the hydrostatic drive to meet individual requirements are indicated. In small tractors, despite lower drive efficiency, actual work efficiency is improved in most common applications.
