The JD743 Tree Harvester was designed and developed to meet the increased demand for mechanization within the woodlands' industry. The Tree Harvester fells, delimbs, tops and deposits tree-length stems into windrows or bunches under a variety of terrain and cutting conditions.This paper defines the major design objectives, describes the resulting JD743 design features, and provides insight to a few of the test methods used to develop these features.
