This SAE Recommended Practice provides design, test, and performance guidelines on the comfort, fit, and convenience for active restraint systems for heavy trucks and multipurpose passenger vehicle applications over 10 000 lbs GVWR. The information pertains to the forward facing seating positions. Document has been changed from previous revision to clarify occupant size information, add statement regarding sufficient seat belt length to accommodate heavy clothing, etc. in specialty vehicles, and to update SAE committee titles.
