Design and performance evaluation of several potential crankcase ventilation systems and the ultimate choice of the subject tube to air cleaner system are described. The performance considerations include: blowby control, fresh air ventilation, carburetor calibration effects, owner maintenance, backfire protection, and carburetor icing tendencies. Compliance data for the American Motors Crankcase-To-Air Cleaner Engine Ventilation System for the California MVPCB Blow Emission Standard are also demonstrated.
