A method for predicting the transient and steady-state characteristics of electrical power systems on SPICE is presented. The analysis method presented allows complex macro circuit models to be reduced to a less complex model. By using the simple model, simulation run times and computer memory requirements can be significantly reduced while still achieving the required accuracy. This extends the capability and utility of both simulators and hardware platforms.A power system simulation will be presented which illustrates the use of this analysis method. Comparisons in results and run time (macro model versus reduced model) will be included.
