The maintenance of aerospace products, in the commercial, military, and the space environments requires specific human skills. This paper examines the basic philosophy of maintenance in each area and describes the skills required to support the philosophy. There are both common and unique elements between the philosophies, and the required skills. These are illustrated in a chart format, and the effects of a downsizing aerospace industry are examined for each area.
