This paper describes the characteristics of Azdel, a glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic sheet especially adaptable to auto and truck body structures. This lightweight, tough, dent resistant, and corrosion resistant material is successfully formed by methods similar to but more economical than metal stamping processes. The paper describes the various forming methods and explains how present equipment for metal stamping can be used in plastic forming.
