This paper covers two new approaches to commercial vehicle air conditioning. First, the thermoelectric system: how it would operate and a pictorial view of the unit which would be required to cool a truck cab and sleeper. Secondly, a hermetically sealed system using an alternator and frequency stabilizer for a power source. Also, a brief discussion is included on the reverse cycle system for year-round air conditioning. In addition, many of the design parameters that are encountered in commercial vehicle air conditioning are detailed.
