Traffic bottleneck is an important factor to the traffic flow, and related extra energy cost caused by traffic congestion has been highly concerned by people. In order to provide a better understanding of the energy dissipation (ED) based on non-static traffic flow process, a two-lane model with a traffic bottleneck was simulated based on the NaSch cellular automaton model. Energy dissipation (ED) rate was investigated by local measurements between the warning sign and the traffic bottleneck. Impacts from the injection rates and extinction rate of the lane on the ED rate were also been investigated in the open boundary condition. Results showed that keeping downstream uncongested have significant effect on reducing energy dissipation.
