Internet of Vehicles (IoV) communication has become increasingly important in recent years, enabling secure and efficient inter-vehicle interactions, and playing a vital part in improving the driving experience. Anonymous V2V identity authentication protocol is particularly important, as the limited storage capacity of onboard units and the need for quick authentication in rapidly moving vehicles require a lightweight authentication protocol. This paper proposes an effective anonymous and lightweight V2V authentication protocol, which provides better communication and computational performance while being able to withstand more attacks through comprehensive comparison and analysis. Finally, the security of the proposed scheme is proved using the strand space model and the Scyther tool, ensuring its reliable application in V2V communication scenarios in the IoV.
