Abstract An analysis of the potential aircraft separation benefits that could be enabled by the installation of wake vortex decay enhancing Plate Lines has been performed. Because Plate Lines are only effective close to the ground, a special focus was on the analysis of the results when applying the reduced separations out of ground effect as well. It has been shown that substantial separation benefits can be enabled by the installation of Plate Lines without compromising safety in ground effect and out of ground effect.
