The study aims were to assess group differences in repetitive and maladaptive behaviors (RMBs) and perception of family relationships of Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) children after Robot-assisted therapy. The experimental procedure included use of Pepper, android social assistive robots, and a Learning Management System platform for humanoid robots named Robomate. After 10 weeks, experimental group has improved the cognitive aspects with a small effect size (p = 0.027, d = 0.084), the repetitive behaviors with a very large effect size (p = 0.011, d = 1.20), the adaptive behavior with a medium effect size (p = 0.011, d = 0.64), and the parental acceptance with a very large effect size (p = 0.018, d = 1.37). The cognitive and behavioral aspects in pediatric patients with ASD and parental acceptance can improve after robot interaction.
