In this paper, a new fixed-wing UAV tight formation control method based on the induced velocity field and the line of sight Angle between the UAV is proposed. Since there is no need for UAVs to communicate with each other to confirm their relative positions in the formation, this method has the advantage of low requirement for UAVs to communicate with each other. Firstly, the dynamics model and eddy current model of UAV in formation are established. Then, this paper analyzes the information topological relationship in UAV formation when the induced velocity field is used to transmit information, and proposes an improved UAV tight formation control method based on the traditional artificial potential field method. The main improvement is to change the artificial potential field to the virtual potential field mapped from the induced velocity field naturally existing in the UAV formation. And the feasibility of this control method is verified by simulation.
