In response to the shortcomings of existing resistance heated turnout snow melting equipment turnout, such as low heating efficiency, long preheating time, large energy consumption and single heating mode, the research on snow melting heating unit of electromagnetic induction turnout was carried out. The snowmelt heating unit of the induction turnout directly heats the basic rail of the turnout area. Compared to the RD1 type resistance heated turnout snow melting terminal, the steel rail self generates heat through electromagnetic induction without the need for heat conduction. By using a high-frequency inverter source to load high-frequency alternating current on the induction coil, an alternating magnetic field is generated. The eddy current generated by the alternating magnetic field on the rail is used to heat the rail, which has high energy utilization rate and advantages of fast heating, low energy consumption, and high efficiency and energy conservation. The system composition and boundary of melting heating unit of electromagnetic induction turnout are introduced in detail, and the design of electromagnetic induction heating coil is emphasized. The actual comparison of snow melting test results under the same input power condition shows that the melting snow heating unit of the induction turnout has fast temperature rise, high heating efficiency and more uniform heating.
