The auxiliary power supply system is a crucial part of the electric locomotive, which determines whether the electric locomotive can run safely and stably. In this paper, the locomotive power supply system is simulated and analyzed under normal and abnormal operation conditions. Due to the rectifier part in the train, this paper introduces the working principle and control mode of PWM rectifier, adopts the double closed-loop control, builds the simulation model, and obtains the stable DC voltage. This paper focuses on the locomotive fault, that is, when the traction transformer is short circuited. The simulation model is built in Simulink, and the different faults of the auxiliary power supply winding are simulated and compared in the two cases of grounded and ungrounded, so as to get the influence of the auxiliary power supply winding is grounded or not on the short circuit.
