E-mobility is as topical as few other issues in traffic. While politicians praise its potential to add to more sustainability in travel and transport, manufacturers hope for new markets and products that will counter the widespread notion that cars cannot be the solution to contemporary problems, namely the conflict between traffic, the environment and scarce energy resources. Consequently, all major car manufacturers announce new models based on electric drive. Smaller companies offer fresh concepts and hope to break into saturated markets. Many national governments have set ambitious targets for electric drive vehicles (EVs) to be sold. E.g. Germany is heading for 1 million EVs in the national car fleet by 2020, the UK for 1.55 million and France even for 2 million.1
